nce upon a swingin'
time, down an old Mexican road lined with cactus, near a mineral spring and a
cobblestone bridge, lived a jazz singer. Every morning at sunrise he walked his
dog, singing through the corn fields to the wind rustling the yellow stalks,
dreaming of New York. Set back from a tree-lined lane near a red
picture postcard barn, green fields and horses, was a bass player on a tractor.
One night at a gig in northern New Jersey, he discovered his old music school
chum up from Mexico. A piano player just back from Switzerland, on his
way to play a concert in New York, met the singer in an elevator.
Soon, lyrics were written, a demo recorded, photos taken and a tape sent off to
the Thelonious Monk Institute Vocal Competition in Washington, D.C. where it
advanced to the semifinal. Now, the U. S. Dept. of State has chosen us as
"Ambassadors" for a Middle East summer 2001 tour. Like down in the
cellar of an established house, back amongst the barrels to that one special
bottle, a taster's treasure, the Fine Wine Trio was
born. We continue our musical adventure by choosing creative booking
and management. Our purpose is to pop the cork and bring forth a
palette of Fine Wine sounds. |
